Developer and fixer solutions. This product is needed for quality images. To get a clear picture of a radiographic film after an X-ray examination, it must be developed.

Developer. This substance converts the image hidden on the film into a visible one. This is achieved through the chemical cleavage of the bromargyrite (silver bromide) molecules that make up the emulsion layer of the film. They are affected by particles of gelatin, which is part of the developer. The duration of the reaction is influenced by the temperature in the room (at least 20 ° C), the concentration of active substances in the reagent.

In general, the development process is carried out strictly in time, which allows you to achieve maximum contrast, no "veil" and the required reliability of the results. The composition of the reagent affects the gradient and graininess of the image.

Fixer. After development, the emulsion layer still contains a certain amount of silver, which is removed by fixing. This reagent fixes the image and makes it resistant to light. The fixer acts directly on bromite without splitting silver sulfate. The duration of the fixative treatment also depends on the temperature in the office and the number of active substances.

In addition, the concentration of the fixer affects the brightness and stability of the image. To determine the optimal fixing time, take into account that it should not be less than twice the development time at the same temperature. In total, development, and drying take about 30-40 minutes.
